Brighton's Strange Cages have released a date for their upcoming album Pop Therapy, the first of hopefully many, through Acid Box on September 13th. Formed in 2014, Strange Cages were picked up by Strong Island Recordings, a superb DIY recording company. Over the years the Brighton based band have played alongside the royalty of noise, IDLES, King Gizzard and the Lizzard Wizzard to Yak and Night Beats.
With the release of their lead track from Pop Therapy, Strange Cages' new single Dance Like An Alpha Male is sure to get anyone and everyone dancing like an alpha male. Opening with a strong bass line, chaotic drums and a finger-blistering guitar riff, Dance Like An Alpha Male is not only a punchy amalgamation of wiry post-punk and hypnotic garage-rock but also echoes the disgruntled vocals of Lias Saoudi from Fat White Family.
Strange Cages new single wonderfully rolls out like the best rollercoaster of your life as the lyrics sung by Charlie McConnochie build to an explosive eruption of guitar mania. Lead singer adds "sometimes it's good to take a look at your own actions over the last 24 hours to decide whether they're really coming from you or of they are an imitation of something else. Once you've done that, you can have a little freakout and then go back and start learning how to be more of a genuine human being."
Along with the announcement of Strange Cages upcoming album, they will be touring around the UK, commencing at the Rialto Theatre in Brighton on September 13th!
